Yashaswini Meduri is a Clinical Research Assistant with the Pediatric Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Antimicrobial Stewardship (IDEAS) research group at Clinical Futures at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She works with Dr. Jeffrey Gerber on several research studies, including DISCO and FAAN-C. DISCO focuses on improving antibiotic use when patients transition from the hospital to their homes by implementing a discharge stewardship intervention, and FAAN-C aims to compare the effectiveness of automatic follow-ups vs as-needed follow-ups after children are discharged from the hospital.
Yashaswini graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minors in Health Disparities in Society and Health Promotion. During her undergraduate studies, she was a research assistant in the Mkuu Lab in the Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics at the University of Florida College of Medicine. She contributed to a systematic review on cervical cancer screening rates in women with behavioral health conditions and a qualitative study on the acceptability of HPV self-collection as a more accessible way to screen for cervical cancer among Black women with type II diabetes and social vulnerability.
