Sanjay Chainani, MD

Sanjay Chainani is an afilliate trainee at PolicyLab at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), a fellow in the Pediatric Hospital Epidemiology and Outcomes Training Program managed by Clinical Futures at CHOP, and a Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellow at CHOP. He completed his Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency at UMass Chan Medical Center and earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Global Health/Development and Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Chainani is also earning his Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania.


Dr. Chainani's work focuses on understanding and optimizing communication for all families. This includes health services research on the care of newborns and families and communication skills training. Dr. Chainani has been awarded grants through the American Academy of Pediatrics and CHOP for his work.
