Morgan Zalot Hammershaimb is a clinical research project manager with the Pediatric Infectious Disease Epidemiology & Antimicrobial Stewardship (IDEAS) research group at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She works on a number of clinical research projects with Dr. Susan Coffin and Dr. Brian Fisher.
Prior to joining CHOP in 2020, Morgan worked in the communications field and spent several years as a news reporter in Philadelphia. As a journalist, she extensively covered issues including gun violence, poverty, youth homelessness and the opioid epidemic, all of which led her to pursue a career in public health. She also previously conducted research on the relationship between social determinants of health—including socioeconomic status and food access—and treatment decisions for patients with Crohns disease.
Morgan earned her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at Temple University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She was born and raised in Philadelphia.
