Karen Crew, BS

Karen Crew is a Senior Clinical Research Program Manager working with Dr. Chris Feudtner on the Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).  Her latest project is a study of the medical decision-making of parents/guardians of seriously ill children. This included a quarterly two-year follow-up with 200 participants to learn what their most important hopes were for their ill children and what they felt they needed to do to be the best parents to those children.

Karen’s other recent projects include parents’ views of parenting goals for sick children, family functioning and child behavior when a sibling is critically ill, medical decision-making for children and adolescents with spinal muscular atrophy, and decision-making in pediatric palliative care. Her research interests are focused on how parents and families cope when a child is seriously ill.
