Josh Kurtz, MD is a fellow in the Pediatric Hospital Epidemiology and Outcomes Training Program managed by Clinical Futures at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and a Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellow at CHOP. He completed his undergraduate training in biochemistry and anthropology at the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his residency training in general pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and practiced as a general pediatric hospitalist at CHOP for two years after graduating prior to returning to fellowship.

Academically, Dr. Kurtz is interested in leveraging implementation science and quality improvement methodologies to improve outcomes for patients and caregivers who prefer a language other than English. Dr. Kurtz has been awarded grant funding through the Association of Pediatric Program Directors and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to support his work. Additionally, he is the current co-lead of the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Health Equity and Language QI/Ops Accelerator Group and an editorial fellow for Hospital Pediatrics. Clinically, Dr. Kurtz is passionate about providing care for patients with complex chronic conditions during and after hospitalization.
