Grace Chan, MD, MPH, PhD

Dr. Grace Chan is a core faculty member at Clinical Futures, a Research Institute Center of Emphasis at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Dr. Chan is a physician-scientist with specialized expertise in epidemiology and public health. Dr. Chan’s research focuses on designing, evaluating, and implementing interventions to reduce mortality and improve the health of mothers, newborns, and children globally. She has partnered with community-based organizations, government agencies, and the World Health Organization to discover and deliver cost-effective interventions for vulnerable populations. 

Dr. Chan studied biology and psychology at Harvard College, medicine at Harvard Medical School, and public health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed pediatrics residency training at Boston Children’s Hospital/Boston Medical Center, and a post-doctoral fellowship at Hopkins and the ICDDR,B in Bangladesh. Prior to joining the University of Pennsylvania and CHOP, Dr. Chan was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology at Harvard Medical School and School of Public Health.
