Francesca Pavluk is a Clinical Research Assistant for the Pediatric Infectious Disease Epidemiology & Antimicrobial Stewardship (IDEAS) research group within Clinical Futures at CHOP.
Currently, Francesca is a Research Assistant for the STAMPP study, a clinical trial focused on evaluating the effectiveness of Safety Net Antibiotic Prescribing (SNAP) versus immediate antibiotic prescribing for young children with community-acquired pneumonia. Her role is to identify patients who are eligible for the trial, participate in the informed consent and enrollment process, and complete follow-up data collection.
Francesca is a recent graduate of Drexel University’s Custom-Designed Major program where she developed her own course of study that combined on Biology, Sociology, and Public Health with the goal of addressing global health issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. Her past research projects include her senior thesis, a narrative review of the validity of race as a variable in clinical diagnostic tools, and participation in the Bacteriophage-Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science Program where she and a group of students discovered and isolated a novel bacteriophage that can be used to treat antibiotic-resistant infections.
Francesca hopes to pursue a Master of Science in Healthcare Analytics in the near future and use her skills to further support research and work that will improve the health of all Philadelphians.
