Emma Gerstenzang is a clinician-scholar in the National Clinician Scholar Program (NCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania, an affiliate trainee at PolicyLab at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), a fellow in the Pediatric Hospital Epidemiology and Outcomes Training Program managed by Clinical Futures at CHOP, and a pediatric hospital medicine fellow at CHOP. They completed their pediatrics residency and chief year at CHOP, earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and holds a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Cornell University. Dr. Gerstenzang is also earning their Master of Science in Health Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Gerstenzang's interests include improving care for children with medical complexity, and specifically transitions from hospital to home, and care models like hospital at home, with a focus on equity in this area. She is currently leading a qualitative study evaluating caregiver perspectives' on digitally-enabled post-discharge care delivered in the home setting to infants with feeding tubes.
