Ashley Martin, MPH is associate director of the Center for Perinatal and Pediatric Health Disparities Research (CPHD) led by Scott Lorch, MD, MSCE. Ms. Martin has several years of experience in health outcomes research, specifically in areas related to quality of and access to care; social determinants of health; disparities in health and healthcare; and maternal, child and neonatal health with an emphasis on neonatal health services. Ms. Martin is an experienced qualitative researcher familiar with proposal development, project management, participant recruitment and retention, data coding, and outcomes analyses. As a qualitative researcher, she is centrally involved with projects concerning racial and ethnic health disparities, regionalization of care, quality of care in the perinatal and pediatric settings, maternal health, socio-structural challenges and stressors, and health care outcomes.

On behalf of research teams at CPHD, Ms. Martin oversees communication with community partners, assists in analyzing and managing research data, and works with the public relations department to craft press releases. She also supports investigators with the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations and is also available to consult or assist on qualitative projects.

Ms. Martin graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor in Government and Political Affairs in 2004. She received her Master of Public Health degree from Drexel University, concentrating in Health Management and Policy, and her certificate in FEMA Emergency Management in 2010.
