Diagnostic error is increasingly recognized as one of the most significant threats to patient safety. Together with members of the DBHi Human Systems Informatics Lab, Dr. Rasooly is working to develop approaches to support diagnostic excellence leveraging the electronic health record. Her current work focuses on improving recognition of child abuse, evaluating diagnostic decision making in simulation, and partnering with operational leaders to evaluate and improve diagnostic performance throughout the institution.
She also leads the analytic team at CHOP’s Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality funded Pediatric Patient Safety Learning Laboratory, applying expertise in clinical epidemiology, QI, and informatics to evaluation of this longitudinal quality improvement effort.
